Welcome from the Head of School

As a young girl growing up on the two floors above the Mandell School, I was raised in a world where school represented “home” in the most fundamental way. Mandell was, of course, my physical home, but it was also the place where I was always loved and respected, where I was challenged to think, ask and learn, and most of all, the place where I “grew-up” into the person I believed I was meant to be. That feeling of “home” has been shared by many hundreds of Mandell children over the years.

It is that sense of belonging to this place and owning one’s experience here that defines the Mandell Experience. We are without question, a community—a family—that holds dear its intimacy, its mutual respect and its shared values.

We work hard to reach out to those around us—to model for our children that we are all citizens of a greater world. We work hard to give our children opportunities to prove their weight in the world—that they too can change their planet for the better. We work hard to teach our children to strive for learning—to become informed, intelligent decision makers. And these are but a few of our goals. The Mandell School is committed in every way to making these goals a real and constant force in your child’s life.

I hope that our website helps you to further your understanding of who we are and how we do what we do. Mandell is a dynamic community of teachers, parents, children and educational professionals who believe deeply in our school. We are proud to share Mandell with you.

Thank you and enjoy!
