The Nursery Afternoon Adventures is an after-school program designed to provide enriching activities for children within a consistent environment. The program offers an extension of the existing Nursery curriculum. Afternoon Adventures takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., September through May. Parents can register for the two day option (Monday and Wednesday) or the four day option (Monday through Thursday).
Children who attend bring their lunches from home and eat in the classrooms with the teachers and other children. After lunch, the children rest while a teacher reads aloud to them from a story book followed by nap-time. The rest of the afternoon is spent in various ways including playtime with art materials, blocks, toys, puzzles, games, and in the gym and dramatic play areas. There may be a science experiment, a cooking activity, or a special art project. There will be outdoor excursions over the course of the year. Once a month all children gather for a seasonal group event. This is a social event during which the children may sing and dance, and participate in other group projects.
Registration for Nursery Afternoon Adventures is on a first come, first serve basis. Kindly sign and return both copies of the attached contract along with the non-refundable enrollment deposit. In order to hold the place, we must receive both copies of your signed contract and deposit by Wednesday, May 1, 2013.
