Library
Comprised of well over 11,000 volumes developed from years of curriculum and independent reading support, the Mandell School Library is an integral part of the school community.  Located on the second floor of 775 Columbus, the library houses an extensive collection of picture books, early readers, and fiction titles as well as non-fiction titles covering a wide variety of subjects and interests.

Students visit with their classes once per 6-day rotation to hear stories from classic and modern children’s literature relating to school curricular or current themes. They choose books to take home based on personal interests and learn to care for this community-wide shared resource.  Parents may register as borrowers as well. The library is open every morning before school and selected hours in the afternoon. Parents may come with their children to return library materials and check out new titles.

The early childhood library located in the 96th Street campus houses a small, but growing, collection to serve the interests of the youngest Mandell students. Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten classes visit the library once each week with their classes for stories and borrowing books.
