We understand that choosing the right Kindergarten for your child can be challenging. We are committed to supporting our families through this process through either an early enrollment option into Mandell’s Kindergarten or by providing guidance in the search for the right school for their child.
Current parents considering Mandell will have the opportunity to meet with the Head of the Elementary division, have a tour of the Elementary and Preparatory divisions and attend an Open House. Mandell does not require the ERB for admissions into Kindergarten and our current students do not need to attend a child play date.
Should families wish to consider other schools, Mandell has engaged Robin Aronow, a school consultant for over 10 years in Manhattan, to provide support and guidance to families going through the exmissions process. Robin advises parents on which schools to apply to including other independent schools, gifted and talented programs, neighborhood public and parochial schools. The exmissions process at Mandell begins in the spring with a group meeting at which parents are advised on the “nuts and bolts of the process” and how to research “best fit” schools for their children. Throughout the process Robin is on site at Mandell and meets individually with parents, observes children in their classrooms, sends parents emails with updates and reminders throughout the fall and conducts informational meetings on public and independent school admissions.
Mandell fully supports the exmissions process in every way with the belief that both the parents and children should be happy and comfortable with the school of their choice.
