Lunch

The Mandell School provides lunch for the Elementary and Preparatory Divisions. Mandell is committed to providing the most high quality food to our students on a daily basis.

Our meals are provided by a catering company that specializes in creating home-cooked, healthy, sustainable and locally grown food. The children are given plentiful choices for meals that are always hormone, antibiotic, high-fructose corn syrup and trans-fat free.

Our caterers work with a “Farm to Table” program that continues to add organic local farms’ products to our menus. Children with any religious or health needs in their diets are also accommodated.

Food Allergies
Food allergies are a growing concern in schools across America. Millions of children must be careful what they eat in order to avoid suffering a severe or life-threatening reaction. At The Mandell School it is our highest priority to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
The Mandell School has a “NUT AWARE” policy which prohibits Mandell families from bringing food, lunches, snacks or anything else that may contain nuts onto the school premises. This is done to protect the safety of those students that have potentially fatal allergies to nuts. Many of our students with this allergy can suffer a reaction by merely touching a food that contains an allergen.
The Mandell School also takes other food allergies very seriously. Any student with an allergy is given an individualized care plan. We work closely with their parents and health providers in order to ensure a safe and normalized environment for all students to thrive without the worry of contacting an allergen or living a life isolated from their peers.
