Financial Assistance
The Mandell School provides financial assistance to families already enrolled in the school as well as incoming families. Any family believing that they may qualify for Financial Aid is encouraged to apply.

To be considered for financial assistance at The Mandell School, you must fully complete the School and Student Services (SSS) Parents’ Financial Statement form. This form can be found by following this link sss.nais.org. The form may be sent electronically or by mail directly to SSS. All forms must be sent prior to the deadline of January 15, 2012.

The Mandell School reserves the right to require additional information in order to make a fully informed decision on a case-by-case basis. All families must submit a copy of their current year’s tax return (Form 1040). In order to facilitate this process, your previous year’s tax return can be submitted in order to have an estimated financial aid award calculated. In all cases, the current year tax return must be sbmitted directly to the school in order to receive a final financial aid award. All families applying for financial aid are strongly encouraged to file their federal taxes immediately after January 1.  If circumstances warrant, the school may also require more documentation including, though not limited to, w-2 forms, itemization schedules, and the SSS Business/Farm statement.

In cases where the child’s parents are not living together, the non-custodial parent must submit their own SSS form in order to meet application requirements for financial aid assistance from Mandell. Information from both parents will be used to determine eligibility as well as the amount of any financial aid award. If this requirement cannot be met, additional documentation will be required. In all cases, it is the responsibility of the custodial parent to arrange and ensure all required documentation is submitted on behalf of their child. Please note that a financial aid application is considered incomplete until the non-custodial parent submits the SSS form or documentation affirming no financial obligation on the non-custodial parent’s part is submitted.

We will attempt to communicate decisions about financial assistance at the time enrollment decisions are sent to families. Financial assistance is determined independently of the admission decision and does not affect a candidate's eligibility for admission. Based on the financial information provided in the Parents' Financial Statement, SSS provides an estimated amount parents can contribute to educational expenses. Though extenuating circumstances will be reviewed, families should expect an award to be no larger than the parent contribution calculated by SSS.
